This is a remote position with an expectation of some on-site interaction with the two facilities in Big Lake and Coon Rapids, Minnesota (along with the potential of travel to other LISI and customer locations)

Position Summary:
The LISI MEDICAL Vice President of Sales, North America, is responsible for the promotion and sales of all LISI MEDICAL products and services for all the global LISI MEDICAL locations. This includes partnering with Division and plant leadership on establishing business development goals, sales and marketing strategies and financial targets and for all of LISI MEDICAL. This position is responsible for leading a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) that each support an assigned territory. This includes coaching, mentoring and developing the BDMs along with maintaining accountability, serving as an escalation point for issues and providing day-to-day support as needed. The incumbent will provide strategic and tactical input to the LISI MEDICAL division regarding sales direction and market outlook, will be responsible for summarizing appropriate commercial information and ensuring the attainment of the budgeted revenue goals for the territories. The incumbent will establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers and manage all aspects of customer engagement.

This is a player / coach role, so along with leading the BDMs, the Vice President of Sales, North America, will provide a significant level of support for key major customers and will also be responsible for working with the sales organization to form and execute prospection plans for new clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

New Business Development:
  • Identify targets for current and adjacent markets and customers in line with the agreed upon strategic plans through data analysis, market intelligence. Determine market focus, value and priority.
  • Maintains active Business Development Plans for the commercial team.
  • Engage the commercial team to grow and enhance utilization of Sales Force to facilitate historical insight, current customer knowledge, market intelligence and quote win/loss insight.
  • Support the quotation process through management of RFQ solicitation and quote generation from provided costing
Customer Relationship Management:
  • Coordinate executive-level reviews with customers to monitor the relationship with respect to business growth, market changes and future high-level opportunities.
  • Provide feedback to leadership regarding any performance concerns which must be addressed
  • Serve as an escalation point for the BDMs for any unresolved issues or urgent customer concerns as required
  • Perform high level data collection, monitoring and analysis around metrics such as quote rates, quote times, sales and bookings by customer and product line
Commercial Strategy:
  • Partner with Division and plant leadership on establishing sales and marketing strategies, financial objectives, and business development goals for all of the LISI MEDICAL locations globally.
  • Facilitate the maintenance of our CRM databases with relevant information of the customers, market share, product offerings & business potential. Use network, trade shows, publication, and other complimentary resources to gain information on the market conditions and trends
  • Research and analyze competition.Gather market intelligence and follow-up on possible competitive risks
  • Assemble forecasted sales plans to support the budgeting and strategic planning process
  • Review and define customer risks annually - including but not limited to market share, finance and quality
Other Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner
  • While doing business, evaluates and implements opportunities to minimize waste and control impact on the environment such as but not limited to reduction of document reproduction, environmentally sound product packaging, and storage
  • All employees are responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times
  • All employees are required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to managements attention immediately
  • Continually seeks opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results

Leadership Development / Management
  • Lead and develop the Business Development Management team and ensure execution of the departmental goals and strategies
  • Develop and maintain a succession planning funnel for the BDM role
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to establish clear and measurable sales targets with associated action plans.
  • Provide leadership to monitor, identify prioritize, and execute action plans to maintain and increase market share
  • Develop and publish monthly sales reports. Develop and utilize sales tracking tools and reports in order to track and measure key sales activities, including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT).
  • Manage and coordinate the marketing strategy and brand of the business unit, ensuring alignment with corporate business and marketing strategies.

Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience a technical sales environment; 3 to 5 of those at a management level supervising sales / business development staff
  • Commercial leadership experience within the medical device industry, contract manufacturing preferred
  • Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team building and conflict management ability
  • Experience developing and executing sales and marketing strategies for technical products
  • Broad knowledge of machining practices and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills necessary to deal with volatile, rapidly changing medical markets
  • Innovative and creative with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills that build successful strategic relationships
  • Comfortable interacting with high-level managers in large corporations
  • Working knowledge and experience in medical devices requirements: FDA 21 CFR Part 820 & ISO 13485.
Travel

This position requires travel. The exact amount of travel is estimated to be less than 50% with certain periods requiring additional travel as needed. All travel to adhere to the LISI Medical Travel Policy. Whenever possible, cost saving measures should be taken.
